Biography

Dr. Hao Liu was born in Shanghai, China and spent his formative years in Canada and Japan. His family settled in Texas, where he attended high school in Plano and went on to undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

After concluding both clinical and research fellowships in 2020, Dr. Liu stayed on as faculty at UT Southwestern splitting his time between investigating renal developmental physiology in a basic science lab and seeing patients at the Dallas VA Medical Center. Dr. Liu joined Advanced Kidney Care of North Texas in 2022. He specializes in chronic kidney disease, glomerular disease, hypertension, and renal physiology. He sees patients at the Plano and McKinney offices.

Dr. Liu is an avid sports fan and sneaker-head. After repeated heartbreak at the hands of the Dallas _____ (insert Cowboys/Mavs/Stars/Rangers), he finds consolation in spending time with his three children and playing golf and basketball.
